Salisbury Steak

I made this a while ago...I have such a backlog of food photos—you have no idea! LOL! Anyways, I actually surprised myself with how good this was. You need to try it!

Salisbury Steaks

1 onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced/pressed
3 tablespoons butter
1.5 to 2 lbs. ground beef
4 eggs
1 c. bread crumbs (I also added some plain stuffing mix)
1 t. salt (or garlic salt)
1/2 t. black pepper
2 T. butter
2 T. flour
24 oz. beef stock
(option: add 1 pound sliced button mushrooms)

Sauté onions, and garlic in 1 tablespoon butter until translucent and set aside to cool.

Mix beef with eggs, bread crumbs, salt & pepper.

Form into patties and fit them into a baking dish.

In saucepan melt 2 T. of butter and add flour and cook over low heat for 1 minute until wet sand consistency.

Begin to add stock 1/3 at a time whisking and bringing to simmer each time making sure there are no lumps.

Add onions and simmer...

Pour gravy over patties and bake in a preheated 375˚oven for 45 minutes.
