Mocha Brownies

Mmmmm...chocolate and coffee.....!!!

Mocha Brownies with Frosting


1/2 c. butter, melted
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
2 t. instant coffee, dissolved in 1 T. warm water
2 eggs
1 c. Bisquick
1/2 c. cocoa
1 t. vanilla
  1. Heat oven to 350˚. Coat a 9 x 13 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well.
  3. Spread batter in pan.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes at 350˚. Watch for brownies to begin to pull away from side of pan—this is a sign they are done.
  5. Cool well before adding frosting.

Mocha Frosting

3 T. butter
3 T. cocoa
2 t. instant coffee, dissolved in 1 T. warm water
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  1. In saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in cocoa and coffee-water.
  2. Remove from heat. Gradually beat in 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar.
  3. If mixture gets too stiff, add water a teaspoon at a time until it reaches desired consistency.

These were good--very cakey. But they actually did not have as much coffee flavor as I would have liked. To me, it just tasted like chocolate. Not that that's wrong...

Oh no, I thought they were QUITE tasty and with just the right amount of coffee flavor :):)
