Chocolate Ganache
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 T. butter (not margarine!)
2 T. half and half (or heavy cream)
- Melt chocolate in double-boiler, or in microwave.
- Stir in butter; then stir in half and half.
- If the consistency isn't real smooth, you can beat it on low with an electric mixer.
- Drizzle slowly over cake.
- ENJOY!!!
NOTE: I added a teaspoon or two of instant coffee granules to the cake mix; not enough to make it truly "mocha" but enough to enrich the flavor or the chocolate. Only use Maxwell House instant—the others are all crap!

That looks delicious!!! :) *miaow*
The cake came out really moist--amazingly so. It was just a Duncan Hines box mix! I got the "butter recipe" one, in spite of the fact that the last one fell apart when I made it in the heart-shaped pan. This time it worked fine. Go figure!
Mrrrah!
Ok Goldie! I just have to ask! What do you do with all this food once you've baked it? I'm absolutely sure that you don't sit there and eat it. They always look yummy. Either your hubby puts on the pounds or your neighbors are ballooning up by getting your cast-offs.
Here's my tip of the day for bakers: Crisco spray with flour! I LOVE THE STUFF! I always hate to dip my fingers into shortening and I don't usually like the flavor of most pan sprays. But this one--best cooking product on the market! I use it for practically everything and I've never had anything stick with it. That's it! My two cent's worth!
I work out a lot...or try to...
And, yeah, "the locusts" are the kids next door who love my food. :)
